Brady and Meg Jefferies - Certified DHK School Dog Team

"Brady is an amazing superdog! He is kind, friendly, and a very good listener! Meeting Meg and Brady has changed my views on dogs completely. Just like Brady, Meg is also amazing, lovely and happy, even when Brady and I get the trick wrong! Before meeting Meg and Brady I was petrified of all dogs, and would cross the road or scream if I saw one. But with the help of D.H.K. and their Library Dogs (and owners) I now love dogs! Brady is the highlight of my week, and it was an honour to be in the D.H.K. calendar, paper, and even fundraisers with him. I also get anxious and the thought and time with Brady and Meg makes me very happy! Thank you."

Team DHK - Tracey, Gail and Certified School Dog Teazel

"The interactive assembly allowed us to see how the School Dogs work, the training involved and what they can do to help children. We had the opportunity to watch Gail and Teazel perform some tricks and some willing volunteers had the chance to have a go at getting Teazel to do some tricks. Thank you to Tracey, Gail and Teazel for an educational, interactive and throughly enjoyable Apollo assembly. Thanks to Mrs Wade for organising this."

Team DHK - Tracey, Gail and Certified School Dog Teazel

"After the assembly, Year 7 were introduced to Tracey, Gail and Teazel who talked to us about DHK and behaviour towards dogs. Tracey told us how to greet dogs and how to spot signs of aggression in dogs. Some of the pupils were able to work with Teazel and enjoyed doing tricks with her. We watched Teazel as she read words from flash cards and I had the opportunity to have a Teazel 'snuggle'. Tracey was also able to give advice to pupils that asked for tips about how to train their own dogs at home. I think the teachers enjoyed the talk and stroking Teazel as much as we did. My dog Dudley, a 2 year old labradoodle, is currently training to be a School Dog with DHK and hopefully in the future (if he passes all his assessments) he will be visiting the school ad helping pupils from Holsworthy Community College."
