Team DHK - Tracey, Gail and Certified School Dog Teazel
"Thank you all very much for the talks yesterday (January 17th 2014), it was brilliant. The talks were well pitched to both the assembly and the small group in the library. Your charity does amazing work. I had very many positive comments from the staff, especially the head and deputy head. We look forward to seeing you and of course Teazel in the future"

Teazel and Gail Laurence - Certified DHK School Dog Team
"Tracey and Gail along with Princess Laya and Teazel first came to visit Southmead primary school in Autumn 2011. Initially we held an assembly for KS2 children on the ways to behave around a school dog or any other dog they may come across. This assembly was a huge success and the children were shown a power point by Tracey demonstrating the way you should approach a dog and what you should do. Along with alot more information from Tracey and Gail, Princess Laya and Teazel treated us to some wonderful demonstrations as to how truley truley clever they are. The children thoroughly enjoyed watching the dogs perform. It was also amazing to see both dogs so attentive and so well behaved.
The children from KS1 were also involved in a secound assembly and again were shown about awareness of approach and what to do when you are near a dog.
For the last 6 months myself and Gill Gillett, Headteacher at Southmead Primary School, have worked very closely with Tracey and her team at DHK, preparing the whole school for the very exciting arrival of Teazel and of course Gail to our school. Tracey and Gail have helped us along the way and we have all enjoyed a wonderful working relationship.
At Southmead, we have recently refurbished an area of the school which will now become a base for all our nurture based groups, for learning and activities. Teazel will be working alongside a team of Teaching Assistants based here. We are very excited and so pleased to have a wonderful new Teaching assistant, Teazel to join us."

DHK Educational School Talk with Tracey and Princess Laya
"Dogs Helping Kids visited Miss Floyde's class (years 3/4) from Fremington Community Primary School in February 2012. Children were so pleased with the visit and felt that what they had learnt was so important they wanted to help other children.
After creating instruction posters on 'how to approach a dog' to place around the school, they used their own initiative and came up with a colouring competition within their class, where children had the choice of two beautiful drawings to colour, drawn and created by Harvey (a child in the class).
This was a great success. Adam, another child in the class, then made some cakes and we had a cake sale in class. The combined efforts raised a total of £15.00 for DHK. Our class hopes this can help towards helping other children in schools."
