Comments about the DHK Affiliate School Dog Training Programme

DHK Affiliate School Dog Training Programme

"My cousin sent me an article on DHK, a chat on the phone with Tracey, and then I attended a training course at the DHK headquarters to pass my 1-4 assessments. Well ok- my dog passed them. The weekend was fast, fun and action packed, teaching me all I need to know for Pip to become a fully qualified school dog. I now realise the weekend was more about training me, than training my dog- and I learnt masses! So suddenly I am on my way to having a DHK school dog, and we proudly trot round the village and local town practising in our t-shirt and orange harness and coat. You can work out who wears what. I feel privileged to be part of the amazing work DHK does."

"I'd been doing assemblies in a local primary school with my Border Collie, Griff, and came to realise the potential for doing more work with children. I came across DHK through a magazine article and then spoke with Tracey via e-mail and phone. She was a great help. Before I knew it I was on my way to Devon to start training with Griff to become a DHK affiliate. It was a great experience, covering all I needed to know to get going in a professional way. If you're thinking about working with your dog in a school, in any way, training with DHK is an absolute must."
