Puppy parties
Puppy Parties are run at North Devon Veterinary Practices and are for all puppies aged between the ages of 8 and 12 weeks, who have had their first vaccination.
Puppy Parties allow contact for puppies with both other puppies and their owners in a supervised and safe environment, enabling early socialisation to occur at the correct age. The critical socialisation period for a dog is between 3 and 12 weeks - it is the most fundamental aspect of a puppy’s upbringing but it is the thing that is sadly the most overlooked. These puppy parties therefore help to compensate for the restrictions which must be placed on young puppies during this critical period of their life due to necessary vaccinations.
We run puppy parties once a month at the following Veterinary Practices:-
Argyll Veterinary Clinic, Barnstaple
Charter Veterinary Hospital, Barnstaple
Horsepond Veterinary Centre, South Molton
Market Veterinary Centre, Barnstaple and South Molton
Torbridge Veterinary Hospital, Bideford
They must be booked direct with your own Veterinary Practice – do not forget to ask about details on them when you and your puppy visit the vet for his/her first vaccination. The veterinary nurses at each of these practices will also be only too happy to discuss the details of these puppy parties with you.
These Puppy Parties are free, loads of fun, and an informative handout full of 'handy puppy tips' is provided to each puppy owner.
We look forward to meeting you and your puppy at a Puppy Party.
